Between the presidential elections and hurricane Sandy on the east coast, who could blame you for not being caught up with recent social media news.

For all of you pinners out there, Pinterest finally announced that they are introducing secret boards, a new feature just in time for the holidays. Now you have your own space to pin images that you would like to keep private or share only with your friends and family. If you look at the bottom of your profile you will find three new secret boards.

Skype
Skype is wonderful way to communicate long distance with friends, family and co-workers. On Nov 8th, they announced a new feature being launched called Skype in the workspace. This will be a new effective tool that will allow small businesses to connect around the globe. Find out more here.
Instagram a mobile photo-sharing app, that was bought by Facebook, has more than 10 million users. On Nov. 5th they announced that they will soon be launching Instagram Profiles on the web.
Here is a short snidbit from Instagrams release.
“Your web profile features a selection of your recently shared photographs just above your profile photo and bio, giving others a snapshot of the photos you share on Instagram. In addition, you can follow users, comment & like photos and edit your profile easily and directly from the web. It’s a beautiful new way to share your Instagram photos!”
Facebook is currently testing the gift feature in which you are able to send presents to your friends, perfect for birthdays and holidays! On Nov, 5th, the L.A Times announced that this feature will be available through iphone and ipad app. Facebook is also working hard to perfect their camera and messenger app.
